Work with Us

We do not have a one-size-fits-all approach and will customize your child/teen’s treatment to his/her/their specific need.

We value collaborating with other providers and look forward to being part of your team.

Comprehensive Child & Adolescent Psychological Evaluations

We strive to get you scheduled quickly.

Once the evaluation begins, your provider will meet with you within 3 weeks to give you comprehensive verbal and written feedback. This is much quicker than most providers. We want you and your child/teen to get answers and access to services as soon as we can.

We assess for Autism Spectrum Disorders (and other developmental delays), Intellectual Disabilities, Academic/Learning Disabilities (e.g. dyslexia, dysgraphia and dyscalculia), Gifted and Talented Evaluations, Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder Evaluations, and Emotional/Behavioral (e.g. anxiety, depression)

Autism Evaluations

We conduct comprehensive assessments of your child/teen’s social communication skills, using the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2) and other measures of developmental and cognitive skills, to provide diagnostic clarity and treatment recommendations.

Educational Evaluations

We assess for learning disabilities (Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, and Dyscalculia) and talented and gifted identification. Our team is attentive to the many factors that can impact learning. We help you better understand your child/teen’s unique educational needs and how to access supports and interventions.

Psychological Evaluations

Questions about ADHD, anxiety, depression, irritability/agitation, etc., a psychological evaluation will clarify your child/teen’s strengths and weaknesses, provide diagnostic clarity and offer recommendations to help them move forward.

Our Approach:

We provide comprehensive, evidence-based, individually tailored evaluations for children and teens. We value individual differences and are affirming of all genders and neurotypes. The goal of an evaluation is to provide better understanding of your child/teen’s strengths and weaknesses. Although diagnoses can be useful to guide treatment recommendations, we do not view them as problems to be solved. Rather our goal is to focus your child/teen’s strengths, needs and challenges. At the end of the evaluation process, we hope children and teens will better understand themselves, and parents will better understand their children.

Our evaluations can also be used to clarify medical and mental health treatment recommendations, to help inform school accommodations and modifications (e.g., Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and 504 Plans) and to provide community-based recommendations (e.g., individual/family/group therapy, interest-based classes, schools, tutoring).

The evaluation process includes:

  • Intake session with parents/caregivers to review background information, past records, interventions tried so far and current concerns.

  • Consultation with pediatricians, other providers, teachers, etc.

  • Administration of parent, teacher and child questionnaires.

  • In-person evaluation session including administration of psychological assessments chosen to best address the referral question (usually involves 1 to 2 sessions ranging from 2 to 3 hours each).

  • Scoring, interpretation and report writing.

  • Comprehensive report with evaluation findings and scores.

  • Feedback session with parents/caregivers/client to explain the results from the evaluation.

How do Evaluations Work?

  1. Use our contact form to start the process. A member of our team will contact you to discuss your child/teen’s needs.

  2. An intake will be scheduled for parents/caregivers to meet with their clinician to further discuss the child/teen.

  3. On the day of the evaluation, you and your child/teen will come to our office. Your clinician will meet in-person with your child for the evaluation. Evaluations take between 3 and 6 hours and may be scheduled over multiple days.

  4. Within 3 weeks of the evaluation, your provider will share the evaluation results verbally and in a detailed written report, which will be sent to parents and providers as requested.

Our focus is on therapeutic interventions. We do not provide evaluations for the purpose of custody determination and/or other related legal proceedings.
